Reenactors Bring History to Life at Gloucester High School

On Monday, June 9, Battle of Bunker Hill 250th organizers Ed Hurley, Tom Dietzel, Jonathan Lane and Doug Ozelius visited Gloucester High School and brought history lessons to life for students as they led presentations on the Revolutionary War while reenacting historical figures.

Students heard from a British infantryman, who demonstrated how to load a musket and spoke about the bayonet’s role in the British triumph at Bunker Hill; a Boston citizen, who talked about the deprivations of life at that time; a middle-class merchant; and Dr. Joseph Warren, prominent Patriot and pivotal figure in the early phases of the Revolution.

The visit highlighted the key historical figures and moments of battle that visitors can expect to see come to life during the Battle of Bunker Hill 250th celebrations.
